Automatic drip Coffee Maker - Making The Perfect Cup Of Coffee

It can be hard to believe but in today’s fast paced world of barrista’s, starbucks, and espresso machines there still are us coffee lovers that enjoy our good old fashioned automatic drip coffee maker. Let’s face it for the past several decades our parents and often cases our grand parents had no trouble with automatic drip coffee, and today we have more bean selection, better filters, and better water to brew coffee with so why shouldn’t we like them as well.

The premise of an automatic drip coffee maker is a water reservoir that heats the water, pours it over a filter basket that holds coffee grounds, then the coffee drips into a carafe. Some coffee makers (depending on the cost) offer other bells and whistles such as bean grinders, thermal carafes, and permanent filters but none the less the process and often times coffee is the same.

A few Automatic drip coffee makers to consider:

Cuisinart Brew Central Coffee Maker
This Cuisinart automatic drip coffee maker is a sharp looking machine with brushed stainless finish. This is my #1 choice for automatic drip coffee primarily because of two main features: an auto pause function that allows you to never spill when pouring a cup if it’s still brewing, and a water filter that removes all impurities from the water used to brew. You can check out our complete review on this coffee maker here.

Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker
Similar to the above automatic drip coffee maker, the grind and brew comes with all the same great options except for one great option. A built in bean grinder (hence the grind and brew name). You can add fresh beans to this machine, grind them and the grounds are transferred right into the filter basket. A permanent filter does come with this auto drip coffee maker but regular paper filters can be used as well. If you love fresh grounds for every pot you brew then this is the easiest coffee maker to do it with. No mess no fuss .

When you’re shopping for your automatic drip coffee maker keep a couple of options in mind. There are options for a glass or thermal carafe. While most drip coffee makers will come with a glass carafe, a thermal carafe is a smart option if you’re someone who brews a full pot but don’t drink it all soon after brewing. The thermal carafe will keep it warmer for longer

For a real nice automatic drip coffee maker that comes with a thermal carafe consider the Cuisinart 12 cup thermal carafe coffee maker.
